Northern Circle Indian Housing Authority works with its member Tribes who have prioritized new construction to develop individual home sites and subdivisions. Funding for NCIHA member Tribes under the NAHASDA Formula Allocation has severely limited our joint ability to produce new housing. NCIHA assists Tribes that are able to plan for new construction from acquisition of the land, analysis of the development costs for infrastructure such as water, sanitary waste disposal and roads, engineering and design of the subdivision or home site and construction of the facilities to support housing. The next phase of development is to plan, design and then construct the home(s). The goal of the new construction services is to increase the number of safe, decent affordable homes available to eligible Tribal members.
