Northern Circle Member Tribes

Northern Circle Indian Housing Authority is a Tribal Governmental Agency. It was established in 1979 to access, construct and manage housing for Member Tribes. The tribal governments that have appointed Northern Circle as their Tribally Designated Housing Entity participate in organizational decisions on the Board of Commissioners. How to Join NCIHA

Tribes who may want to join NCIHA would do so by adopting an ordinance establishing NCIHA as their Tribally Designated Housing Entity (TDHE) under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act (NAHASDA).  An example of the ordinance is available for preview.
NCIHA suggests that any tribe considering joining with NCIHA would want to meet with staff to discuss our programs, services and management philosophy.  NCIHA encourages the tribe to attend one or more Board meetings to become familiar with the way NCIHA goes about doing its business.
Combining resources and manpower to accomplish the housing goals of multiple tribes can be challenging.  It is also rewarding and provides good value for the tribes who make the commitment to work together to meet on of the most basic of human needs, good, safe, affordable shelter for their members. We welcome inquiries about joining NCIHA, contact Darlene Tooley, Executive Director at 707.468.1336 or email at ncihatrb@pacific.net if you would like to explore this possibility.
